In this session, Barbara Marx Hubbard tells the universe story and helps contextualize the unique moment in history that we find ourselves in now. She focuses on the impulse of creation, that from no thing at all, galaxies, supernovas, planets, the rich biodiversity of all the life on earth, and Homo Sapiens emerged. As Brian Swimme reminds us, the universe could have been satisfied with just hydrogen, but no, the impulse was always towards ever greater creativity, synergy, and complexity. Looking over this 13.8 billion year story, we can see where we come from, where we are now, and get an understanding of where we could be going.

Barbara likens the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly with the transformation of humanity into our next phase of evolution. Part 1: The Future Human
As Co-Creator

Part 1: Homo Co-creator with Barbara Marx Hubbard

One of Barbara’s favorite subjects for the Future Human is co-creation. What does it mean to become a Co-creator? It’s a huge shift, she thinks, perhaps as big a shift as Neanderthal to Homo Sapiens. The emergence of Homo Co-creator is what she sees as the next stage of evolution.

After explaining the emergence of the Co-creator, Barbara leads an Evolutionary Chakra Meditation. As Einstein said, we cannot solve our problems with the same level of consciousness that created them. The Evolutionary Chakra Meditation is a practice that Barbara created to help her incarnate the evolutionary impulse so she could solve problems from a new level of consciousness.

The second half of this session consists of diving deeper into the different qualities and experiences of the Co-creator. Barbara sees a new archetype emerging on planet earth that she calls the Feminine Co-creator. Who is the Feminine Co-creator, what are her qualities and unique features, and how do we honor and see her?
In the way that only Barbara can, she explains her terms and phrases: suprasex, vocational arousal, the compass of joy and regenopause. She even proposes a new take on the aging process itself. Finally, she describes the Masculine Co-creator and his qualities, the Evolutionary Family, the changing face of marriage, creating families by choice, and what things could look like with one more step of interconnectivity between all of these Co-creators.

The Co-Creative Society

The Co-Creative Society with Barbara Marx Hubbard

Many of us are familiar with images of what the world will look like when everything does not work, when everything breaks down. In this session, Barbara talks about what it will be like when everything works, when everything that is innovative, creative, and loving is deeply supported, and Unique Selves everywhere are breaking through, connecting, co-creating, and innovating a world equivalent to our potential. Barbara is calling her vision the Co-Creative Society.

Barbara reminds us of the importance of having positive visions to move towards and how she has demonstrated this throughout her life, such as when she ran for Vice President of the United States of America and the vision she shared at the Democratic National Convention in 1984. More recently, she has contributed the Wheel of Cocreation and Synergistic Convergences.

One thing we know from chaos theory is that when a system is far from equilibrium there is a chaos window and the system wants to jump to structure. If it doesn’t have a benign structure, it will jump to a fascistic structure. We see that with Nazism and Communism. Our whole system is far from equilibrium right now and is ready to jump. Some people are trying to jump to ideals from the past, but that won’t work. Barbara is offering this structure of the Wheel as one option for that jump forward.

Barbara shares the process she has developed called Synergistic Convergence, or SYNCON. She explains how it works, and talks about exciting new developments happening currently. Then she asks what this would look like on a global scale using an online platform. Imagine a platform as popular as Facebook that is structured in the Wheel, a “Unique Self Book.” We now have the technology to help foster this next evolutionary jump. One more degree of coherence and connectivity in that nervous system will be like waking up the nervous system of a baby.
